God Will Most Definitely Settle Accounts With The Proud and Lofty …….

We discussed here that God will deal with the proud and haughty.  Isaiah makes it clear that, even though it is not obvious to people now, and even though it may seem slow in coming, a specific day of reckoning for the proud will come.  The proud will think everything is going well, until the tables are instantly turned.

Isaiah 2:12-22

12 For the Lord of hosts will have a day of reckoning
Against everyone who is proud and lofty
And against everyone who is lifted up,
That he may be abased.

17 The pride of man will be humbled
And the loftiness of men will be abased;
And the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,
18 But the idols will completely vanish.

19 Men will go into caves of the rocks
And into holes of the ground
Before the terror of the Lord
And the splendor of His majesty,
When He arises to make the earth tremble.

20 In that day men will cast away to the moles and the bats
Their idols of silver and their idols of gold,
Which they made for themselves to worship,
21 In order to go into the caverns of the rocks and the clefts of the cliffs
Before the terror of the Lord and the splendor of His majesty,
When He arises to make the earth tremble.

22 Stop regarding man, whose breath of life is in his nostrils;
For why should he be esteemed?

Putting “Biblical Perspectives On Narcissism” Into Perspective

  1. Please kindly forgive the tone of my previous comment. Seems I was quite hasty in drawing my conclusion. May God continue to strengthen and establish you and your ministry. Once again, my apologies.

    • As they say in Australia, no worries mate! I was not offended, and you helped challenge me to move forward more quickly with the next chapter.

  2. Going through all your articles, I observed you haven’t recommended any help, spiritual or otherwise for the narcissists themselves. Sometimes you think they’re happy the way they are and they’re always deliberate in their inflictions of pain. You’re wrong. I believe you can do more to help them than judge them. God bless you.

    • Thanks very much for your comments, Abiodun. This study is a work in process, and I am just writing as I am learning myself. As you can see in the categories at the top of the blog, I have a category “Redemption and Healing”, and under that is a sub-category “For Narcissists: How Can I Change?”. I have been studying how N”s can change, but have not yet written much on it – but I hope to do so in the coming year. This is not just an academic study for me, but deeply personal. I know from personal experience that some narcissists do want to change, while others do not – and for those that do I am searching for those answers. As I hope that my blog reflects, ultimately God is the Judge, not me – and what really counts is what HE says about it all. I am simply and hopefully faithfully trying to work through and outline what His Word says on the matter. My hope is that readers will use this blog as a starting point for their own sincere look into scripture, in order to obtain their own understanding of God’s thoughts.
