Dealing With Narcissists – It Depends On the Relationship

There is a lot in the Bible about dealing with Narcissists / Scoffers / Those with Insolent Pride.   But like in a construction project where its important to use the right tool for the right task, some of the Biblical advice for dealing with Narcissists may be appropriate in one situation but not in another.  For example


Proverbs 22:10 – Drive out the scoffer, and contention will go out, Even strife and dishonor will cease.


This is very clear advice on dealing with a Narcissist (see here for an explanation on how scoffers are narcissists).   However, while you might apply this in some work situations, you would not apply this if the scoffer was your child.   So as we continue to explore how to Biblically and effectively deal with Narcissists in our life, we will make distinctions based on the particular relationships, as follows:
