God Thinks About Us 10 Trillion Times Per Second

.

Psalm 139:17-18

17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand.
When I awake, I am still with You.

.

A 75 year old person has lived 2,366,820,000 seconds or 2.3 followed by 9 zeros.

There are between 2.5 and 10 sextillion grains of sand in the world.  Using the low end of the range that is 2.5 followed by 22 zeros.

If God thinks about us more than the number of grains of sand, during our lifetime*, He would think 10,000,000,000,000 thoughts about us per second.

Impossible?  Look up at night at our little corner of the Universe.   There are between 10 and 200 sextillion balls of fire somewhat equivalent to our Sun.  That’s a picture of the size and power of God – and also the size of His love, His justice, His creativity, His mercy, etc.

.

Mark 10:27

27 Looking at them, Jesus *said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”

  • Psalm 139 does not give a timeframe over which God thinks those number of thoughts about us, so to be conservative I used a “lifetime” (of 75 years)
